Under the motto "Full steam instead of pension", the model railway Hamburg e.V. (MEHEV) celebrated at the end of August 2014 the 65th anniversary of the historical gauge 1 layout with a large model railway festival, which was very popular with an unusually high number of visitors.

On the actual anniversary of the opening 65 years ago on 7 October 1949 at the Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte, the association opened an exhibition on the 2nd floor with models and photographs from the early days of the complex. Below, a compartment car can be seen, which was made from old schoolbooks in the post-war period.

On 7 October 2014, the model railway demonstrations will not begin until 2 pm. The Cafe Fees is opening at 12:00 am.

It is planned to show the exhibition until the end of the year. Take the opportunity to visit this unique facility once again. The museum management would like to use the space used so far for other purposes and would like the facility to be dismantled and rebuilt elsewhere in the museum.
